Independent Studies: Math Fractals
This class was all about fractals. It was interesting but at the same time it got slow and boring. I was not sure what fractals were. Now I understand what they are. Every shape in our planet is a fractal. Math is involved. The math are different kinds of math. The teacher was Vickie and Joe. Joe really answered my questions and helped me not get so stressed out. Vickie made it easier for me to present my power point on the fractals. I was so nervous about this project.
My favorite part of this class was that we got to color and make our own fractal. I like to color and looking at all these fractals and learning about them was very exciting but I wanted to make my own, we did! The least favorite part of this class for me was that it got slow and sometimes I didn’t get some of the fractals or I didn’t find information on certain fractals made me stress out on the projects. Not having the complete information on the fractal was my least favorite part. I also disliked that I felt like I was way behind than others doing this fractal.
The things I learned in this class I didn’t know before was all about fractals. I didn’t know that clouds were math. The effects on the movies we watch were all about math. The amazing and beautiful shapes I’ve seen were made out of math. I would like to learn a little more of the math used in it. I saw that there was a lot of trigonometry used in these fractals. I am taking another math class which there I learned trigonometry. I know what is about, but I wish I could learn other math used in the fractals. I think if I had to take this class next semester, I think there should be more time to do the projects. We should get taught the math. Have examples at least.
